Death Camas (Toxicoscordion venenosum formerly Zigadenus paniculatus )
Blooms in early spring, 12-20" tall, perennial, from bulb; poisonous; related to and sometimes
in the same area as edible camas.
Leaves:   One stem, usually basal leaves which are long, narrow, strap-like.
Flowers: Cream colored buds in inflorescence on upper stem;
open to 6 white petals with yellow center, long stamens.
Habitat:   Dry forest as under ponderosa pine
Range:    Can be found in Washington, Oregon and Idaho
