Grass Widow (Olsynium douglasii)
Grows from bulbs; upright stems; one of the first plants to bloom in early spring.
Leaves:   Upright, narrow strap-like leaves
Flowers: Shades of pink or purple, rarely white; 1 or 2 flowers to stem
Habitat:   Rocky areas that are wet in spring, dry in summer
Range:    Can be found in Washington, Oregon and Idaho (see on Moscow Mountain, Kamiak Butte)
Plant is suitable for drier, wilder portions of the ornamental garden, or rock gardens.
