Little sunflower (Helianthella uniflora)

Helianthella uniflora

Erect rough stem, hairy; perennial; blooms mid-summer with long bloom period.
Leaves:   Fatter lance-shaped leaves, mostly sessile, some with petiole
Flowers: Single flower (uniflora) per stem, yellow rays, yellow disks; flower generally dries on plant, seeds quite recognizable as small sunflower seeds.
Habitat:   Dry hillsides
Range:    May be found in Washington, Oregon, Idaho (see on Moscow Mountain, Paradise Ridge)

Could be grown in wilder, drier part of flower garden.
