This fruticose-type lichen growing on downed wood on Moscow Mountain can also be found elsewhere in the U.S. as well as Europe and other areas. It is grey-green, with golf-tee or trumpet type fruiting bodies with a floury covering and grey-green leafy squamules.
It is a member of the Cladoniaceae family.
